Mobile Elevating Workplace Platform Training (MEWP)

MEWP training educates operators on the safe use of equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other aerial work platforms used to access high or hard-to-reach areas in various industries.

Mobile Elevating Workplace Platform Training Content

This mobile elevating workplace platform training builds on the basics and helps operators understand the full range of equipment used for work at height. The course explains how scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other workplace platform systems operate, and why proper handling is essential for preventing accidents. Participants learn how different platforms respond in tight areas, uneven ground, and changing site conditions. The aim is to give operators the confidence to use MEWP equipment safely in busy environments.

MEWP Operator Training and Practical Skills

The training includes demonstrations on machine controls, stability, and correct positioning before elevating. Operators practise guided manoeuvres and learn how to maintain safe distances from structures and overhead hazards. This section also highlights the difference between routine use and mobile elevated work carried out in more complex locations. Instructor guidance focuses on improving awareness and building good habits that support safe MEWP operation during day to day tasks.

IPAF Training, PAL Card and Certification Path

Participants receive an introduction to ipaf training standards and the steps required to obtain a pal card. This overview explains how recognised training courses help operators meet employer and industry expectations. The programme also covers platforms training requirements and how different courses prepare workers for a range of equipment types. By the end of the session, participants understand how mobile elevating equipment should be used, how to complete checks correctly, and how proper training reduces risks across the site.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Recently Booked an IOSH Health and Safety Course through Samson. Samson did not directly provide the training but I found them easy and reliable to deal through they found a course provider to best suit my requirements. I really enjoyed the course and the course instructor through her own experience was able to provide real life examples of Health and Safety Issues. There was interaction with Q & A’s between different sections of the course which kept the course interesting.
